I’m Robert, and I am the owner of 3-Dorks. I am also the writer/editor and event photographer.
I am the guy who was always in advanced English, speech and debate, and in the spelling bee (where I came in second every damn time). And no, I did not get shoved into lockers; I was on the football team too!
Like Frank and Eugene, I am graduate of Youngstown State University. My undergraduate work was in professional writing and editing, and I am currently a graduate assistant at YSU in the Office of Marketing and Communications working toward my master's in professional writing and editing.
I am also a shutterbug, and I have an artistic knack for photo restoration. I have three years of professional experience as a photojournalist, and over ten years as an art photographer. This means I tend to go for the “real” shots not the posed stuff, so I tend to sneak around the edge of events with a BIG lens, to get photos of people “being themselves” (yes, I have been known to hide behind large plants). I try to capture the true beauty of people; I feel this is the highest art of photography…
I’m Eugene, and like Rob and Frank, I am a proud Penguin. I graduated from Youngstown State University in 2011, and I am a professional educator.
I've always been interested in photography; I enjoy working with composition and light to produce unique, timeless shots... the click of the shutter leading to a perfect moment. Not surprising then, I am "the portrait guy," and I have over five years of professional experience. While Rob is hiding behind plants and trying to look nonchalant, I am in your face getting those perfectly posed moments. Like Rob, I also have knack for photo editing and restoration, so we often collaborate on projects.
I also lend my expertise to marketing and consumer relations. I am charged with making sure our clients are happy. We work tirelessly to make sure each project we take on ends with satisfied customers, and I take great pride in knowing we have always hit our mark.
Frank here. I'm a web designer and general tech-guy for 3-Dorks. I like to press the buttons you're not supposed to press, just to see what happens; that's how I've gotten to where I am today.
I started designing websites when I was in high school where I was actively involved with the FIRST Robotics team, Delphi E.L.I.T.E. I took control of the team's website (www.delphielite.com) and began an immediate redesign. I found I couldn’t get enough, and during the 10 years I have been associated with the team, I have redesigned the website three times; soon I’ll start another.
Before I graduated high school, I was offered a job as a computer technician for the Warren school district. Now in my 7th year, I'm managing all the technology at Jefferson Pre-K thru 8, including phone, security, video distribution, and PA systems, as well as deploying and troubleshooting computers. I also design graphics for large format printing.
I graduated with a BA in Telecommunications from Youngstown State University. More specifically, I studied television and radio broadcasting. I worked as a producer, graphic artist, and general technician for the live television show, Homework Express where I pioneered the use of Skype for live remotes. This included a segment from the Dominican Republic, which showcased the missionary disaster relief work I helped with in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake.
